In keeping with the character(less) features of Futura and also considering that whomever would actually use such a typeface would not normally partake of holidays, this is about as exciting as Futura gets :)

: )))))

Stop Graham you're killing me, not even a sans snowflake that would fall so fast it would crash through the roof of a car? That would be the bold of course : )

Michael

"Merry Chrsitmas?" :)

The menorah is missing some candles.

Feels like a Volkswagen holiday.

--steve

Your snowman also seems to be missing a head...unless that's an emoticon snowman. :)

Peace,
JT

In the Futura future heads on snowmen are unnecessary decoration from the past; just like serifs and uneven stroke weight.

These geometric representations of binary orders (2⁰, 2¹, 2², &c.) are my Christmas present to Paul Renner.
And to everyone:
Happy Christmas! Happy New Year! I wish you all new clothes and fresh eyes, and may your lives be twice perfect.

ChrisL

Since we're on the subject... nice, Chris. *winks back*

Now THATS funny.

Is she taking aim?

Tim

I can do this without leaving TextEdit.

Amidst the snowflakes: ornament, Santa hat, manger, tree.

This is my first entry in Typophile. Merry Christmas!
Esta es mi primer entrada en Typophile. ¡Felices Fiestas!

Catholic Christmas - Navidad Católica

¡Bienvenido!

semi-non-denominational ornaments:

ChrisL

Do you mind if Sarah comes to my house tonight. Hell, my wife hasn't winked at me like that in years. One time she got something in her eye and looked like that though : )

Michael

Sure, she can come over, Michael--just don't wear anything that makes you look like a Moose :-)

ChrisL

Oh what I would give for a Klondike bar!

Sorry for straying... I just had this image!

Michael

Tried to create all the icons with Futura glyphs only and keep it minimal & clean.

JonE.

BTW, love what you guys did with the different 'T' interpretations for Typophile on home page...Do you operate this website, Ngoc Ngo?

JonE.

Sorry O_O

Now that is more like it! :-)

ChrisL

Happy Holidays!

Holiday awesomeness! You're all nailing this battle so far.

Thanks Jonathan! Glad you like it. Typophile is run and operated by the great folks at Punchcut ;)

This sounds like a battle for Richard Kegler.

Hey guys. is it too late to start this one?
i'm new here and would like to try my hand at this.

Hi Paul, welcome to Typophile.

This is the current battle. So you're not too late.
Go ahead and take a stab at it. :)

Can you tell what this is supposed to be?

A 1920's German Christmas stocking?

It's clearly a gift under a beautifully decorated Christmas tree.

Clearly!

More festive Futura fun..

A 1920’s German Christmas stocking?

You got it! :-)

whoa that futura claus is cool!

Yes, he even brings Christmas pie :-)

ChrisL

hahaha ohh lord

Di Di Ding Dinbang

Futura Claus. That's just brilliant. I see his mouth is the number 5. That's close enough to the requirement for me!

Going for a classic modernist style.
Hopefully, Paul Renner would be proud.
What do you guys think?

Early tests at the Bauer foundry convinced Renner to adopt a more conventional lowercase 'g'.

This is my first attempt, nice battles :-)

Trying to keep it simple:

Fabio, great entry! This one is my favorite so far. They are simple, clearly identifiable and match the style of Futura very well.

Thought I'd hit you with some local Futura Swedish Christmas decorations.

Merry Christmas! God Jul!
