late 15th century english font

molly_rose

Hello, there!
I am trying to ID the particular font that was (handwritten by two different scribes) on the original Winchester Manuscript of Malory’s Arthurian Legends. Like I said, late 15th century england. I am not even remotely knowledgable on the subject of fonts, but this is partly why I recently joined - I would like to know what this general type is considered.
Thanks!

Although it’s not type or a font, I believe this is an example of Bastarda. I’m not really an expert on hand-written styles, so let’s see what the others say.

Yep. One of the very few quality renditions of that style: St Augustin Civilité (part of H&FJ’s Historical Allsorts).
Another – brandnew – one: Givry by Tom Grace.

All very cool. Thanks folks!
