ID Request: Early 20th Century fonts

Ralph Currell

Hello all,

I'm trying to identify two typefaces from an admittedly poor sample. This is a signboard from a British ocean liner circa 1910-1920. The first line is a rather distinctive decorative font.

Your help is greatly appreciated.

Best regards,

This is hand lettered as most signs from that era would be. Ideas for emulating the sans lettering: Monotype Grotesque, Granby, Ministry, P22 Underground

Wood Type or Dekoria for the ornamental style.

Stephen,

Thanks for the suggestions. I rather suspected it was hand drawn but was hoping I could find a fairly close typeface. You've at least given me something to start with.

Regards,
Ralph
