I'd like to streamline my fonts, but I don't want to do anything I'll later regret. Is there a way I can make only certain fonts appear in certain programs?

Most font management programs can create set lists that activate specific fonts when certain programs or even documents are launched.
Linotype Font Explorer X and Extensis Suitcase Fusion are popular examples.
Is there a way to choose fonts for particular programs in Font Book?
no in font book you can't do that... but giv it a try on the Linotype Font Explorer it is the one i use!
