Personally I think it has been hacked about a bit as the strokes don't flow is some areas. I looks really recognizable but just can't seem to place it. Any help would be really appreciated. Many thanks in advance, D.

It looks like they took 2 different letters from something overlapped and autotraced. Its possible its a free font but the overlaps and ends seem autotraced.
I know what you mean, there's no smoothness to some of the curves. The font looks really familiar though before it got bastardised. Thanks for the comment though. D.
