"Old El Paso" product rough connected brush script

mister_eaves

I'm looking for the same or similar typeface that's used on Old El Paso products. Not the logo typeface, but the face that's used to indicate which product is which.

Link for example:

I realize it's likely custom/hand-drawn, but I'm looking for a close match. Any suggestions?

Hmmm. No response.

Can someone please give me the address of any other type ID websites that might help?

I must say this script looks quite unique -- the overall shapes are of the kind that is usually associated with smooth scripts, not rough edged ones. Do you prefer the actual letter shapes or the brush texture?

Re: other type ID websites that might help

WTF or its related forum on MyFonts.com

Some – more or less similar – script fonts by Sudtipos:
Tiza, Galgo, Almond.

Thanks for expounding on the title of the thread, and for the suggestions.

Bald, to answer your question, I'm looking for as close of a match as possible. I like both the letter shapes and the brush texture. Though, if I had to choose between the two, i'd err on the side of the brush texture.

Let's see if anyone can come up with more suggestions. :^)

My three offerings (none of which are very rough): Rob Leuschke's Water Brush, Jeremy Dooley's Florencia and Rebecca Alaccari's Geronimo.

Thanks for the suggestions, Mike. None of them are quite on the mark, however.

For now, I'm mocking up with "Brubeck" -- free from DaFont:

Not an exact match, but it attempts to maintain the feeling of the intended target.

How about Oxida?
