I’m not sure whether this is a font or drawn, but if anyone knows which font it might be i’d be most grateful, i’ve tried all sorts of searching but can’t find it. Thanks in advance.

Broadband ICG?
Maybe, it’s similar, perhaps it’s been outlined in illustrator and tweaked as a vector. Anyone else any ideas?
Broadband is the ICG version of Neville Brody’s Insignia, but it has the same kind of S shape as your sample. I think your idea that it was traced over and simplified is probably the answer.
