Thanks so much for your time.

Ouch! Who cares about the font on the first sample?

"Vibe is Vibration"

Vibration designed for Vibe or Vibe designer making a clever inside type joke? ;o)

While Vibe probably was using Vibration Gothic from Font Bureau at the time that cover was printed, I think the logo/flag* is/was a custom design based on Helvetica or a more recent sans. Vibration Gothic, like Titling Gothic, has the feel of an older, Akzidenz Grotesk-like sans.

*We magazine designers prefer that to "masthead," which is the listing of the staff/contributors.

To all the magazine designers, I apologize. I mispoke when I referred to the font type as mastheads

I was actually thinking about one issue, while writing on another. Please excuse the error.

Hey, no offense taken. I should have added a :) so you'd know that it wasn't a big deal.

It's a losing battle, anyway. Even some of my colleagues (fellow designers and editors) call the thing at the top of the front cover "the masthead." Sure, I secretly look down on them, but...

COMPLEX looks like something from Fontalicious, perhaps a custom blend done for the magazine. What first made me look at these was the font Rolloglide (shown here in the Lined Fonts Guide)-- imagine a solid version of Rolloglide with the C (alt) from Gemini on the FontBros page.

Some balls are held for charity
And some for fancy dress
But when they’re held for pleasure
They’re the balls that I like best.
