What's used in schools?

bellababie

Hi all

Am doing an assignment for uni. and am trying to find out what the type is used to teach children to write. I just know it as cursive, but is that an actual font or what? And if so, where does it come from...If any one knows some info. or could point me in the right direction, it'd be much appreaciated!

Thanks

You might find this interesting : Barchowsky Fluent Hand.

my mother's a 3rd grade teacher and i believe she uses the school house fonts tiff linked to above. i think their font pack even comes with some nifty software that links the cursive together as it would in handwriting. I've used these b4 and they seem to be just like all those handwriting books i went through in gradeschool.

Hey thanks, guys!

you're welcome, you're welcome, you're welcome. ;^)

sorry tiff. i was just being my regular smartass self this morning.

Sue Walker, Department Head for the University of Reading's Department of Typography and Graphic Communication, has done research into Typography for Children. See here. A booklist can be found here.

Sorry Rebecca, I mis-read your question. Perhaps here or here or here

Now how am I supposed to delete double/treble posts when you make a cute remark that won't make sense if do I delete said posts?
