Typography for Certificate

v-six

Hi All,

One of the students that works in my office asked for my help putting a certificate of appreciation together, and I wanted to get some good typophile input first. I've seen plenty of such certificates, but none that were actually thoughtfully put together.

So what kind of typography is appropriate for such a certificate?

Thanks for any thoughts on the matter.

-Casey

For the big type, something ornate and classy.

Burgues Script
Sloop
Sibyl
Novia
P22 Zaner

Thanks Stephen, I'll see we have that would actually be considered classy.

What would be good for the small type in combination with the fonts suggested?

Here is a modest one that I made, for what it's worth:

For this I used Canada Type's beautiful Bouwsma Text regular and Italic. The name is CT Mayfair. Since the name was so plain, I wanted something swashy.

I made the frame with the Illustrator frames app.

Here's one I recently did as a New Year prank.
