Looking for tech sans - suggestions please

Jan Erdmann0 votes

I’ve been considering Neo Tech/Sans for the logo as well as for copy.
But neither nor are quite right (a mix of both would be it, maybe).
See top sample.

The bottom sample I drew myself for the logo (based on Isonorm).
I might stick with a custom logo and would need a face to go with it.

You may like 'Etelka', by František Štorm.

Hi Jan, how about Fabrizio Schiavi’s Sys?

Etelka looks good. Maybe a bit too wide and not techy enough.
Sys seems too isonormish for text setting.

Something else I thought of was Cachet.

Thanks so far.

Maybe FF Max?

What about the face used for TypeCon 07? It is pretty tech in feel but is also really usable for Magazine sized texts. FF Sanuk. Also, what about Vista Sans. Or FF Din? Cachet is cool but I would shy from using it in longer texts. Sys & Etelkta seem in between.

FF Din has become kind of the standard font for anything here in Germany. Two TV-station use it for their identity. You just see it everywhere.

Sanuk is an option. Thanks.
Considering Sanuk probably means considering Klavika as well.
Regarding Cachet - we’re not talking long texts here, just stationary and heads/subheads or/and short texts on the website.

FF Jigger is a similar take on Isonorm, but it's more of a display face, lacking descenders.

Hey Stephen. I was hoping the listmaster would join the suggestions party.
FF Jigger is what Yves uses for his Unzipped Typequiz logo, right?
It’s too much a display face and too ironic for my needs, though
(and it’s monospaced).
Anything else more suited for text?

Thanks Patty. I already considered Klavika when considering Sanuk (see above).

Actually, Jigger isn't monospaced, even though some of the forms look that way.

More tech sanses:

Ubik
FF Unit
Noa
Storno
Metroflex

Simian - we tend to forget about the Text versions in this series. Concidentally, the all caps look quite lovely on Jan Middendorp's business card and he stumped me when he challenged me to ID it because I've never seen Simian without its quirky letters.

Would Sophisto work?

Thanks everyone.
PSY/OPS has several good ones.
But it’s gonna go in a different direction.
So, this should be enough.
