Font used by Saul Bass, in "The man with the golden arm" poster

VisualPollution

Hello everyone!

I can't remember the name of the font used by Saul Bass, in "The man with the golden arm" poster!

I used to know it...and I know that its glyphs changes according with the glyph that precedes and follows!

Thank you all for the attention!
Bye :)

Saul Bass used to do this all by hand. But there are two fonts which you may like

Ed Interlock by House Industries
and Sinzano by Ray Larabie.

EDIT: Oh, yes, fontdiner is a great option, too.

Try our Square Meal and Square Meal Hearty fonts in the County Fair Picnic Font Set - They were inspired by the lettering from that poster . . .

Stuart :D

You might wanna take a look at this.

I hat e it when I am running down the thread while editing my post, because of the buggy timestamp )-|

Thanks for all the suggestions!
JUST AMAZING!!!

Hey Rainer, you might wanna join the moratorium on editing: Don’t edit, just add another post.
;°)

Florian: Thanks for the thread.

The pity is: I KNOW this bug. But I keep forgetting it. And I don't like it when the rules change here. 1 year ago the killerrule was: First the name, then add the link in the SAME post. Now the rule is: First the name, then add the link in a NEW post even if there are zagillions other posts in between. Isn't very legible, eh? Quite irritating for a website dedicated to typophiles.

Unfortunately one can’t contribute to the moratorium anymore.

Anyway:
