Sabon Next is great and now available in small, relatively inexpensive packages.

Minionis one of my all time favorites and it looks lovely in print

Mrs. Eaves is quite delightful too

As you make your selection, remember to print PDFs and examine catalogs (ask the font seller for a PDF if there is none is on the site). You can't truly test a text face on screen.

Dolly is nice as well.

Why don't you like Goudy Old Style?

"Our company font.." is it an Airport? a Bakery? Car parts? a Dentist? Environmental solutions? Flounder sales? Gum manufacturer? Heavy Metal? How long's the text?

Cheers!

Baskerville, garamond, Times New Roman

I need a good font for a retro garage sign 1930s - 1950s. I'm building and lettering a sign for a friend's barn. I plan to distress it after it's painted too. Any font ideas?
Thanks

Hi Jess, welcome to Typophile!
Please start a new thread for your topic, this one’s about classic serif fonts for text.
Then you certainly will get a lot of good suggestions.
