(x) New York Public Library sign engraving - hand inscripted {Stephen}

Does anybody know what font is or closely resembles
the New York Public Library Main branch sign?

(see attached detail)

The R is beautiful (and unprecedented?)

This was hand inscripted so no typeface will match. You might like Serlio, Classic Roman, Goldenbook, Grand Central, or LetterPerfect’s Baroque Set.

Many thanks for the leads—
Serlio is very close; as well as
LP’s Baroque.
