Illustrator into Fontlab

alphapeta

Yes, there have been many, many posts concerning this issue. I have 'Learn Fontlab Fast'/the MSN page on how to export illus. into Fontlab. But, I can't believe it's impossible to export illus. into Fontlab without changing the shapes of the characters drawn in illus?
It snaps to point, which is very annoying. Can anybody please ease my pain? Yes, it's boring one.

You have to prepare your Illustrator document before you even start to draw.

A work-around may be to use a higher UPM value in FontLab. You are not limited to the standard of 1000!

Hi — Thanks Ralf. I drew the shapes first. So am I correct in thinking, even when drawing characters straight into Fontlab you have to draw strokes which meet the integers?

Yes, all points and handles can only be placed at the grid.
