Mysterious and enigmatic = type, no image.

I agree with what Stephen said. Also though - maybe it can be done with a super-blurry photo.

Here is what I see:

I once bought an Autechre CD simply because it had nice gold coloured/textured sleeve. No type (not even on spine) just a barcode on the back. Thankfully it was a fantastic purchase.

Mysterious = nothing. :)

I have that same Autechre CD. It is nice. I tend to notice that a lot of electronica has simplistic covers like that though. Basic color, small or no text.

After the Beatles and Metallica, is there room for another plain colored album with nothing on it? Thinking about it, Pink Floyd's Wish You Were Here was hidden by a brown paper slip case on top of the artwork with the burning man. Some people to this day don't know what the cover looks like. THAT's mysterious.

Are you sure there is no type on the Autechre sleeve?
It may be printed in clear varnish.

Don't please us please the client.

LP covers = Faust.

Or the Jackie Gleason album with the cover by Salvador Dali…

…or the Little Marcy series…

…or The White Album by The Beatles…

…or the original Their Satanic Majesties Requests…

…or…

I agree.

I'm sorry, but I have to ask...
are they looking for an album cover or the anal bum cover?

water drops on windshield, small well-spaced small caps at very bottom right.

This assuming that at least one of the songs is about a dead robot.

THAT is perfect. I don't know how you knew that, but one of their songs IS about a robot. Spooky!

Nice.

Buy up cheap cds (vinyl would be better) from bargain bins, jumble sales etc. Throw away the cds. Screen print a block of colour with the type reversed out of it over the original cover – run away before some copyright lawyer kicks up at your recycling policy.

>the songs are less that than silly songs about robots

> THAT is perfect

That's funny. My brother and I and other friends have always been amused by the robots...I think it started with C-3PO back in '77. Feel free to use my design as a template, and if you want the original art, I'd be happy to send it to you (although it's nothing more than monotype.com and a vector drawing) in exchange for credit on the back cover or in the liner notes and a copy of the recording when it's done, of course!

The band's name implies that it ought to be a dead female robot (or even several of them)…
