A replacement of my old ATM after Vista upgrade?

sleidia

Hi guys,

How should I do now that I’ve discovered that my old ATM
doesn’t work on Vista?

Is there any way so that I can continue to use PFB/PFM fonts on
my new computer?

Thanks :)

Well, there are a lot of font managers, but a lot of them are pretty crap. I’ve tried FontExpert, which is not super, but it is not too bad either. I don’t run Vista, but the website says FontExpert 2007 is also for Vista.

Thanks :)

Just in case, are there free alternatives too?

I think there probably are freeware alternatives.
But you should search for it on google, I would have to as well. ;)

I use Extensis Suitcase under Vista. The latest version is OK.

Note that you don’t actually require ATM to use Type 1 fonts (PFB/PFM) under Vista. Of course, you may still want to use a font management tool of some sort. Currently, Windows font management is unexciting IMO.

T

Thanks a lot Thomas!
Indeed, I didn’t know that Vista alone could handle PFB/PBM fonts!
Your contribution was really appreciated.
Thanks again :)
