Rough Light Condensed Movie font?

creone

Hi Everyone, hope you can help me. I'm looking for a font similar to the one Saul Bass uses for the Movie credits on the Vertigo poster.
It's a rough, kind of hand drawn, ultra light, condensed font. A movie has used something similar lately, but I can't remember which one (and it's driving me crazy!!!)

Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks

Except for the R Interstate Extra Light Compressed is pretty close, though not as hand-drawn looking.

Have you tried poking around Posterwire.com? Dunno if that'd be any help or not.

It could have been drawn by hand and it reminds me of the work of Pablo Ferro.

Cheers guys, I'm guessing this might've been hand drawn by the great Mr Bass, but I'm sure a very similar font has been used recently for some movie (and therefore probably replicated for some free font website somewhere)

Buzzin Fly records also use a similar font. http://www.buzzinfly.com/buzzed.html

It's pretty much all about the roughened look (which rules out Interstate unfortunately)

Thanks for your help so far.

You might want to look at some of these fonts from Fonthead—none as elegant and delicious as the Vertigo font:

Spillmilk
Holy Cow
Orion
Samurai

Can't believe I didn't think of this, but it's pretty similar to the font used for "Stop Making Sense" by Talking Heads (one of my favorite bands!!)

EDIT: The Pablo Ferro tip was a cracker... I've found a font called Major Kong which is pretty close (if only there was a condensed version it would be perfect)

EDIT2: Brilliant, just found this http://type.fargoboy.com/ which is close enough

Thanks guys.
