what font would be an excellent complement to Eurostile?

Something else Italian perhaps? Various cuts of Bodoni could cover all your bases.

The Bodoni may serve well for a headline, advertising, even text, but when it comes to small text it seems hard on the eyes. Is there another suggestion that would work well at a small size or large size?

Here is another case where Frutiger would work. Also, consider Myriad Pro, which has multiple options. Both are easy to read and are soft to the eye. If you are looking for a serif style, consider Cheltenham, a dignified serif face that has been doing its job for a very long time.

Hallo there, Steve. I see everyone's looking for somewhere nice to nest while WTF is down.

Ain't that the truth. But I'm kinda liking this joint , also. I think I'll make this another favorite of mine.

What is you name on WTF, MH? If you use "MHSmith", you don't post often.

Just the same old name. True, I've been trying to keep off the stuff lately. Sorry to say, lars is not a new pseudo of mine :)

I ran across this when I looked at Cheltenham:

Daniel Berkeley Updike seems to have stimulated the architect Bertram G. Goodhue to design the prototype in 1896 for Ingalls Kimball at the Cheltenham Press. Six years later Morris Fuller Benton at ATF developed it into the design and then the series that we know today.“Owing to certain eccentricities of form,” writes Updike, “it cannot be read comfortably for any length of time.” But he concludes: “It is, however, an exceedingly handsome letter for ephemeral printing.” Mergenthaler bought composing machine rights to the original design c.1896, but bought the Benton design in 1904.

just wondering are you sure about Cheltenham. It looks good to me but, I am not an expert on such matters.

i thought that two sans were not to be used together. Is this not correct?

Eurostile lends better to another sans than do other sans styles only when it is extended. It doesn't do well when it is in the regular form. The biggest problem with Eurostile is that I have never found a good serifed match unless it is italic. JMO.

Ok, Will give these suggestions a go. Thanks so much for the help

Given that Eurostile is a broad, square-shouldered affair, I have always found that ITC Zapf Book paired particularly well with it.

What font is used in this logo? Is it URW Bookman for the Air Plus

because I have seen an ad by them that used Eurostile

Other robust & squarish serifs with rather large x-height include Melior (also by Zapf) and Walbaum (not quite so square but still, might be worth a try).

Melior and Walbaum look close but those still do not match up to the font in the AirPlus logo. Any other suggestions as to what that font may be.

Er, that was just a suggestion for your question at the top of this thread, I know AirPlus is something else.

Oh i see, sorry for the misunderstanding.

Take a look at the Heldustry font series.

You guys have been fantastic in your help, and the many fonts that have been suggested are excellent choices, but I was leaning towards using a serif font.

Does anyone know what font they are using in the Air Plus Logo?
