I have designed a direct mail piece using Carpenter for a few headlines. The client wants a font that is more "readable" while I don't want to change the look and feel too much. Any ideas for a substitute for Carpenter?
Thanks in advance,
KC
How about Nick Curtis's 'Bayern Handschrift'? It is a digitization of an old Art Nouveau era script typeface, so the time period is a good match for Carpenter.

Also Liorah. The drawback of these two is that they are more casual than Carpenter. If you want to maintain a more formal feeling, have a look at Voluta Script.
Don't know if it's more legible for your customer, but Johann Sparkling always reminds me somehow on Carpenter. BTW, Viktor Solt is the designer of Voluta Script, too.
