Looking for fonts filled w/ diagonal lines

AnalogSystm

Hi

Does anyone know of fonts that have a simular fell to them as this one?

I think this one is custom made graphic and not a font. It looks like it's based on Helvetica Heavy...

It could even be Arial.

Yeah I know.
I was just wondering about fonts that had this feel without having to do Illustrator-magic :)
Fonts that are already lined.

Making such lines doesn't require Illustrator-magic. ;)
A couple of lines and mouseclicks should do.

I think that Shatter may fit in this category?

Does anyone else find the discrepancy between the angle on the upper arm of the K not matching the angle of the line somewhat disconcerting?

Yup, but you'll get that problem with any angle, because A, K, M, N, V, W, Y, Z all have different angles.

Ah, but there's ways of tinkering those angles, even just a tad. Certainly wouldn't take much on the K....

(And if I was crazy enough to design a typeface with slanted lines, I'd sure be prepared to do it.)

If you were crazy enough to design a typeface with slanted lines, you'd probably make sure that all angles in characters with slanted strokes were either exactly the same or noticeably different. ;^)

Yves, does a blackletter face count? All of the diagonals are already at 45 degrees! :-)
Here's something I have in the works, the way I used it for the High Priority contest organized by Speak Up and New York magazine.
I used Matthew Desmond's Brauhaus as a template, but made changes to certain letters, like g and y.

If you were crazy enough to design a typeface with slanted lines, you’d probably make sure that all angles in characters with slanted strokes were either exactly the same or noticeably different. ;^)

Yeah, but I'm well known as being compulsive that way.... :-) It would be nice if others were too, unlike the creator of the sample at the top of this thread -- it's certainly one reason why I like Ricardo's example above.

Thanks, Linda -- Well, I think I'm crazy enough to go and do the entire character set now. ;-D

Woooh, looks really nice, Ricardo! Great concept, well executed. Me likes. :^)

[blushes] Gosh, thanks, Yves! Methinks I shall start posting some more samples on my Typophile blog, or in the Critique section.

Four possibilities (although none is as simply lined as your example): Lexon Gothic Xylo, LTR Federal, Chevalier, and Treasury.

I've seen examples of what AnalogSystm is asking for in recent issues of Grafik and in a new book, but I'm pretty sure they were all custom jobs, not actual fonts available for purchase.

Pretty unpleasant though.

Good Lord! But there are a couple in that long list which almost qualify as pop art.

;-)

Hey, look: the Thin weight of Eric Olson's Find Replace seems to fit the bill.

ooooh, you might go blind, but imagine how the designer felt.
