Leonard Cohen "Songs of Love and Hate" album cover

Dominic Forde

Can anyone help me identify the tyeface used on this Leonard Cohen album cover please?

Any other nice display style font suggestions would be appreciated. I like the look of Fedra Sans Dispay and Fat Ed (custom font by Underware not available).

Thanks,

Dom

For similar heavy weights, check out Font Bureau's Rhode, or H&FJ's Knockout or Leviathan.

This is, or was derived from, 19th- and 20th-century wood type. There are several digital revivals with various degrees of fidelity to the funkiness of the original forms.

Yes, it's a shame Fat Ed is not for sale, or I would have bought it.
