C3 logo. Sans serif

Paul Bailey

Hi,

What typeface is the logo of this Danish union using?

Here's a better look at the specific typeface I'm interested in:

WhatTheFont has it pegged as Skopex Gothic. It looks sort of similar to my sample, but it's not the same. Any better guesses from the board?

Kind regards,
Paul

Looks like DIN. (Edit: Let's make that FF DIN, which has all sorts of weights, etc.)

I was looking at the face on Linotype.com and it seemed too heavy. Your edit seems right on the money though.

Thanks for your very quick help, Mike.

It's still an incredible tool, but WhatTheFont has really gotten rusty of late. It should have caught this one.

This font is a lightened DIN font. (Guess it comes from the FontShop cut :)). There is such a light DIN font from a familly called "WAC Mittleschrift". Unfortunatelly I don't know where to find it.

Maybe I am reading you wrong, harrisson, but the type hasn't been "lightened" for the logo. It's actually FF DIN Light, straight out of the box.

I've got an exact first and second match, using the image from the first post, though.

Good! I guess it's another case of garbage in, garbage out.

Miguel, that's odd. Is WTF deterministic, because using the same image it only managed to OCR-guess one or two glyphs.

Dunno. I'm on a Mac, using Safari and the image file at

worked for me.

I still think there's no real substitute for a bunch of folks who know fonts. The eyes and brains of experienced font fanatics can beat a tool all day long.
