Extra Slanty Italics

Eric Hague

I just can’t find any image of those extra slanty italics developped by pica foundry : /

This might make me sound silly, but is there a check list of acceptable uses for different styles/weights of a family? I didn’t know that demibolds should be used for sub-heads and that italicized fonts are used for emphasis, I fell into the all CAPS category.

Can someone school me or show me where I can find “proper” family uses?

The Elements of Typographic Style by Robert Bringhurst is the bible. If it isn’t in there, it isn’t important.

Ahh, one of the books in my pile of “need to read”. I better move it to the top.
