(x) rounded tech sans in Dazed and Confused - Gravostyle {Zachary O}

dave_standen

Hi

I was wanting some help to identify the font used in Dazed and Confused. It is used on all headers (not mast head) for example in the visual "the independent state of kate".

I have checked it against Chevin and there are slight differences with the n. Would be great for help.

Cheers

Could be Typ 1451 by Lineto…

yeah I think that maybe a very close match thanks.

Are the any faces out there that are extra bold and also with a italic version you know of?

Cheers

Florian is bang on the money.

If you want something with some range (an extra bold and an italic), why not go for Chevin? We bought it, used it and were really happy with it. What are you going to use it for?

Bold, Italic & some more: Tobias Frere-Jones’ Gotham Rounded

Even more, incl. Black: Joshua Darden’s Omnes

Both not that close to your sample, though.

Sharing a similar source as Typ 1451 is DIN 17, but there is only one style.

Thanks for that, really helpful. Vielen Dank! (currently in Germany)

It seems to be a bit too late (an probably unimportant) but I don't think that is Typ1451
I believe it is 'GravoStyle Basic' released by Optimo not too long ago.

The differences are small, but if you look toward the bottom of the cover (I know it is tiny), at "Derek" you can see the "D" is more squared than the D of Typ1451, much like DIN 17 that Stephen pointed to.

By the way, GravoStyle also has Regular, Bold and Black weights, plus italics for each.

Anyway, just my 2¢
