Typophile

logo for a carpentry company

Danish

Hey,

Please have a look at this logo. I found some inspiration from a user here in Typohile (don’t remember who….)
But I don’t think it is perfect, but I can’t figure out what to change…
Hope anyone got a good idea

The tree section is brilliant.

Your original...

My wobbly suggestion...

I don’t think Arial should ever be used in a logo. Even Helvetica would work better than Arial.

I like Jon’s suggestion of Kontrapunkt, but I like your original tree rings better than his - they’re more subtle with just the edge of bark around them.

So, my advice: Keep the rings, but change the font.

Unless there’s an “R” in it. Or three.

I think u are right about to change the font and keep the original rings.
I dont know anything about design, but I just thought it could be cool to design my own logo for my company...

cheers all of you

Neuland?

Along those lines, Fakir might be nice too. It’s a shame there isn’t a weight between regular and black though.

Martin - another hint for designing this logo: take a look at how Jon set the text. “SØLUND” is not quite as wide as “TØMRERFIRMAET” because of the way the space under the ’T’ looks. You’ll probably need to do that regardless of what font you use.

P.S. to Hrant - I’m not a fan of Arial’s ’R’ or Helvetica’s, but if I had to choose one, I’d go with Smellvetica.
