Pretty nice! My only problem is with the "K" (and the "G" to a lesser extent) in terms of legibility. BTW, great idea on the "U".

Oh, and I enjoyed the Tucson/Tuscan play on words (even if it was unintentional).

Out of curiosity, are you in cahoots with Miguel H.?
Back in April he mentioned something about doing
a set of western pixel fonts.

If you're not in cahoots, you should get so. Your
individual streams of bitmap talent call for a confluence.

it wasn't unintentional. it is a tuscan face, so 'tucson' seemed to be an obvious (albeit slightly corny) choice for a name.

I'd agree with Martin. Try this as vector. Another thing you might try...how would an alternate face look if you filled in the negative 'crab claw' space? Made it a slab, basically. Maybe just on the bottom?

I created the 'Q' to fit perfectly snug with the 'U.' I figured it was worth the risk of it running into the 'R' or any other letter because, well, I speak and write english, and that usually doesn't happen anyway.

I tried it, and I agree. This is simply how I conceived the emphasis working out when I designed it:

They way you have it now isn't that useful; the heights have to be equalized.

I tried it and came up with another variation on the face. The new slab-serif font is called Bylas (named after a town in Arizona, about 80 miles from Tucson). Here's a comparison:

Dave - for want of a better phrase - it's all good. Keep developing this idea. Do think about the origins of such fonts though; they were fonts for posters and were rarely used at sizes less than, say, 72 point. If you can make bitmap versions with flavor then go for it, but the richness of these design ideas you have really should be manifested in vector fonts.

The Q still weird and large.I´m not agree with the G`s,(keep the same "C´s" rounded forms) and where are the lowercases?

I disagree. That's been done before. The beautiful
irony of a Tuscan bitmap has not.
