(x) Tomita Isao album cover type - (similar to) Sinaloa {Brett Jordan, Stephen}

Hi,

I am looking for a typeface matching or similar in style to this record sleeve (the “Tomita” logo). I can’t really classify this, but think late 70s - early 80s sci-fi/pop, early electronic music...

It must not necessarily be a 100% match, just in the same “mood” as this one.

Cheers chaps!

Sinaloa is close. And you might like Matra, Stop, or Dazzle.

Thanks, good recommendations so far. Sinaloa is very very close. But I am looking for something even more extravagant than Dazzle or Matra. Stop is very good, though! Instant Vangelis ;-)

NEUE AGE! Can you elaborate on “extravagant”?

I can try...maybe I was thinking more “cheesy 70s cheap italian sci-fi / horror movie poster” - extravagant...does that help?

That’s a tall order. The only ’70s Italian flicks I know are Westerns. Here’s some scatter shot:

Franosch
Chromium
Linear
Braggadocio
Futura Black
Cirkulus
Data 70
Amelia
Countdown
Orbit-B

Stephen, thank you very much...

Some of these are cool, but the lower few ones are more likely “Stanley Kubrick cheese-free sci-fi”. It should be more “over-the-top glamorous spacetravel” sci-fi...

Not very sure but you can have a look in Buro Destruct and in Ainsifont.
