Typophile

New Student / Hello

spookDD

Hello everyone!

New to the typophile world, have some work on my personal site, still working on getting some type up. I'm into raw hand drawn type, new and old swiss, bauhaus, and all the weird custom type from the northwoods / wisconsin area.

Looking forward to posting / crits.

You can get an idea for the trouble I'll cause here:

Cheers!

Welcome. There are nice things on your site. I Especially like the Pasidon logo! Just last week I had the idea to make letters using the shapes of weapons like that, and as usual someone beat me to it!

Oh there's soooo many weapons. You should do it up too. I'm sure I'm not the first. Thanks for the warmth, see ya round. Cheers!

Hey...glad to see Stout is still pumping out some talent!

Thanks man, are you a stout grad? What are you up to now?

northwoods / wisconsin area

How far north? I'm originally from about an hour west of Duluth/Superior and one of my best friends lives in Ashland up on Lake Superior.

Menomonie WI / Hudson WI. We venture further into the woods often.

Yup.

I'm a dot-gover at the moment. Getting a tad bored with it, though... (thank goodness for typophile... ;o)

Howdy, Kyle -- I like Dickens-McQueen and the Starburst Type! Welcome to Typophile!

Thanks Ricardo!

Aluminum - sounds cool. Some time to explore, I like it. Have any examples of type projects you've been up to? I'm still new so I'm not quite sure how to hunt people down through these networks yet.

Cheers!

I used to play with a lot of type when I worked at Blinc Publishing:

and got to make some fonts for chank while there:

And by 'make fonts' I really mean just trace some beautiful old wood type. I wouldn't call it grand design. Just fun.

These days I spend more type hacking ASP.net code and the like with the odd freelance gig and typophile to keep me sane. ;O)

interesting, sounds like a solid foundation. Looking forward to seeing some more stuff from ya. See ya around!
