After spendig months on a new typeface family – the measurement line suddenly disappears from the FontLab .vfb-file even though its activated. What is wrong? The other .vfb-files seem to be intact. May it perhaps be a bug? I use FontLab 5.0.2 on a Mac running ‘Tiger’.

I’ve also had this problem. It seems to happen if you are creating outlines with many nodes, like in a rough script or ‘texture’. (I found) It doesn’t happen if outlines are simple.

Me too. Can´t pinpoint when it´s happening but it´s a bug for sure..
I take the file into FL 4 and then back again to 5, to solve the problem.
Tips and tricks.
in the Edit Macro panel write:
fl.font.measurement = 50
fl.UpdateFont(-1)
and click on the Run macro button.
Will that help?
