Joke Font Something Awful page

Dan Gayle

2002 Honest Fonts
(archived version)
This is for the guy who asked about free fonts. Awesome.

Wonderful! Not laughed so much in days.

Cheers, Si

HAHA!

Even the ads are awesome.

Brilliant.

Thanks Dan. I had to stop reading after about 10 cause my laughing began to hurt. Will save the rest for later.

The laugh of the day! After this visit hopefully EVERYONE can tell the differnce between hasty freefonts and commercial dito.

Cheers

I dunno Stefan, there's a few of my more figurative and experimental faces that wouldn't have looked out of place there!

"The Comic Sans Shrine"? ;-)

Priceless, Dan: thanks for the laugh!

LOL! So, now I've gotta try not to be branded the crazy guy that laughs to himself at the office.

Grabbed my cr*pglasses just in time!

No comment from Jimmy Typeface yet?

Great page! I love this particular ad:

Now in amazing Technicolor™!

J Edward,
You got me dude! :-)
I fell for it and went there to see the thing thinking it was a straight lift.

Oh geez, that was priceless. Something Awful always makes me laugh… Photoshop Fridays are the best!

The big question here is...

Are any of the typefaces showcased designed by a Typophiler?

Nobody would own up to it.

Nick Cooke

Not because they're crap--which they aren't*--but because it would spoil the joke.

*When a smart actor nails a dumb role, they get an Oscar. Think Monster.

I also about busted a gut laughing. My only complaint is that the text of "HIS FACE IS FONTS!" is set in Letter Gothic rather than Inconsolata. I mean, if you're gonna do free fonts, might as well get it right, no?

buttloaf 3000!

I tried to download buttloaf, but it wouldn't let me. I seriously think i've seen grampa's newsletter on some of the word-templates my grandpa has filled in. hahaha! these are choice.

Nice link. At first I chuckled. Eventually I was scaring the cats laughing out loud.
