Here are some samples from a lovely book called “The Art of the Bar,” designed by Julia Flagg.

Can you identify the fonts in use?

Thanks in advance to the amazing font experts of Typophile.

Most of the samples have what looks like Gotham in there somewhere.

bar1 - Thought it was ITC Bodoni Six, but no.

A MYSTERIOUS TRADE (from bar2) and NEVADA (from bar4) look like Denim Bold

ART and BAR in bar1 is CA Moskow has a plan

In bar2, the second and 5th line are Bodoni.

Likewise (probably) the ingreds in bar4 - maybe a demi or a bold. There are sooooo many Bodonis.

These guys really did some broad font shopping. Nice catches, Patty.

I’d rather they had done some kerning on that “Nevada” in bar4. :^/

Whatthefont should get the credit for those wacky IDs. I’d never have known that Moscow face, altho I like it! Will the new improved fontshop.com have a similar feature?

I actually think it’s a little bit of font overkill myself. Altho I like most of their choices.

A lot of improvements are in the pipeline and already on staging servers here at FontShop, but Whatthefont is MyFonts’ greatest feat of engineering and I don’t think anyone will match it anytime soon.

Thanks for these IDs. Any thoughts on bar3? Is the headline text an outlined Gotham?? And what do you think the body copy is?

Headline looks like Gotham outlined, yes. I’m not sure on the text - it’s awfully small. Has elements of Baskerville but the f looks wrong. Anyway it’s probably a pretty standard text font.
