Century/Modern-style serif text face

Hello,

Can someone identify the typeface in the attached GIF? My closest guess is Monotype Modern Wide, but it isn't that exactly. Any other guesses?

Thanks!

Centennial hit me straight away but that isn’t it at all.

Century and Escrow are other alts.

Thanks Conor and Stephen. Century and Escrow are close. It is the lowercase g that is particularly interesting and difficult to find a match for. And this face seems to be ubiquitous in scientific paper publishing. Can anybody else help?

Ah, is it the Metafont/Knuth monster?

I'm guessing Euclid is a "bezierization" of Knuth's original "parametric" design.

Its keywords are math and science so it stands to reason that it's used in scientific papers.

Anyway, whatthefont spotted that one, I've never seen it before.

It certainly looks like an engineer drew it.
