Madge's handwritten font

DocTheop

i was perusing the board, saw this [ http://typophile.com/node/15328 ] and had been wondering about this for the last year:

does anybody here know the name of the gorgeous handwritten font used on Madonna’s album and single releases from her “Confession on a Dancefloor” covers?

thanks in advance.

I’d wonder if it wasn’t just the designers handwriting. There isn’t very much consistency.

i figured it could be, but on the off-chance it was a font... i thought i’d ask!
for some reason i find the thinness really intriguing.

I think Tiffany’s absolutely right that this script is handwriting, but there are some new OpenType handwritten fonts like Dear Sarah that have many alternate characters, endings and ligatures that allow simulation of rather realistic handwriting.

True, true. Opentype has opened the world up to hand-written simulation.

( Gah! No pun intended. )

yes, but in this case the lettering varies from sample to sample. that’d take more work to make a font than to just write it out in the first place. :P
