two black sans serif

’REIN’ — I think is Hoefler Knockout 90 from Series G.

’SCHIRN’ — I was tempted to say either Hoefler Gotham or Franklin Gothic, but neither is closed enough.

thankyou both,

i think REIN is Knockout 90, yup.

SCHIRN still no clue.

Akzidenz Grotesk Bold Extended is about the closest I have come to it, but the C and S are still not quite as closed as your sample. I can’t see the G well enough to use it to help with the ID.

is this any helpfull?

gretel

Yes, thank you. Let me look some more. (Still similar to A.G. if you need an alternative.)

Well, I went through ALL 1,890 ’sansserif’ font families at MyFonts, and I can say that I don’t think it’s anything they sell — so it comes from an independent foundry.

The closest resemblances were TS Formula from TypeShop (which is probably a version of some other design — most of theirs seem to be); Fuller Sans from DTP Types; Benton Sans from Font Bureau; Paralucent from Device; and I kept looking at Franklin Gothics of various foundries.

I will keep track of this thread to see what comes out, but I have made my attempt for now. Good luck.

Thank you Mike.
Thank you very much for your precious help.

:O

I bow to the master.

Lex, That only shows how much tedium I can tolerate :)

(I really thought it was something that should have been a popular commercial font, but now I think it’s from a relatively obscure source.)
