Indy Grids Problem

jupiterboy

I used to be able to make the grids print or appear in a PDF using the non-printing objects and show grids in print dialogue. For some reason they do not show up now. What am I doing wrong?

It might help if you told us what software, version, and OS you're using.

James, the headline asks about Indesign, which is only available for OS X I believe. Is it CS or CS2? Unfortunately I'm a bit of a newbie in Indesign but i have a book right here that shows the General Panel (under Export PDF) - under "Include" you check "VIsible Guides and Baseline Grids"

Is this what you tried that didn't work?

Patty's advice works for me, but I notice that it is a page-specific feature; you can have different grids and guides across a number of pages in ID. So perhaps check the page range in the .pdf dialogue? It's my usual mistake...

Oh indy=indesign... my brain is really out of whatever makes it work this week.

I wish I could see the headlines.

It has to be a system or font problem or something. I've used the feature before with no problems. CS for the record, OSX.

I did change the color of the grid. I was wondering if anyone else had encountered the issue.

>> Indesign, which is only available for OS X
InDesign is, and always was, available for Windows as well.

from InDesignCS2 Help:
"Print Visible Guides and Baseline Grids
Prints visible guides and grids in the same color as shown in the document. You can control which guides and grids are visible in the View menu. This option is unavailable when you are printing separations."

This option is also disabled when you choose Postscript File as Printer.

Thanks. That's exactly what I've done in the past and what I'm doing now but no luck. Must be a system quirt or font problem (possibly).

The only thing I've done differently this time through is to change the color of the grid.
