And is Hrant ever going to start the Ban Helvetica movement?

unknown

The site used to mount an over the top hate campaign that was really funny. Now it merely trades on its notoriety and has declined into circumspect boredom.

He's busy working on Comic Serif. (?)

There's already a 'Ban Helvetica' movement...
It's I Hate Helvetica.

unknown

Yeah my agent and soon my lawyer.

Could someone share my feelings on banning Univeristy Roman Flare, see the Type Idenification Board. Mark posted the horrifing specimen

"Ban"?! More like floghelveticatoapulp.com.

I think the "problem" with the bancomicsans people is actually remorse. Weak. ;-)

I'd never seen Magpie before, which is linked in the interview. Whatever happened to it, and is it available anywhere? It's quite nice.

unknown

Magpie hasn't been released yet, I didn't ask when it would be.

unknown

I did it for University of Reading UK for MA and haven't had time to finish it in all weights. I have let a church in America (in the south) use it for thier Latin mass and booklets.

unknown

Please finish it, it's quite nice.

while comic sans is among my least favorite of faces and i readily agree that it is very often misused (i saw it in a wedding announcement!) my beef that i have against the ban comic sans people is that they use the image of the creator of the font in their propoganda. i hate comic sans (it makes me gag) but we should respect the person who created it and not deface his image. i'm staging a personal boycot of the face, however.
there are some who want to ban Bookman Swash and in effect it has been since it's fairly hard to find (i know where to purchase it, ya don't hafta point it out to me) but personally there's one face that i love to see used (maybe it's because its used all over the place in my church on books, music, etc.) Anyhow, there's my 2 worth.
(and who didn't catch that typo on ihatehelvetica.com? there's an apostrophe in the word "world's")

Just imagine the endless uses of "Comic Sand"!
