In Preferences > Glyph Window > Outline Drawing, uncheck "Leave echo while editing". Personally, I like this feature, but it's nice that you can turn it off if you want to.

Mark, I thought I had tried that. As I recall, it just removes the grey line under the segment you are moving temporarally. The blue line I am talking about is always there.

No, that is not it. I wonder if is just a wierd bug on my file? All my other fonontLab files are fine and don't have it.

I like the Mask layer. What bothers me about the blue line is that it gets in the way. There are three layers of lines to look at, the mask layer, the glyph layer, and this blue line that plagues you like a street pedlar in New York.

is it the global mask layer?
are you working using MM? is it your other master?

No, it is not an MM, I know what that looks like. This blue line appears to be the original position an object was in when pasted or drawn. When you move the object, this blue ghost remains even after you deselect. If I try to select the blue line by double-clicking on it, the original path jumps back to become the blue line and the blue line then moves to where the original was after editing! If I delete the blue line, my original path also gets deleted. Making me crazy.

Could you have accidentally put a copy of the whole font into some kind mask?

Have you already tried the different options under tools/masks to remove the unwanted mask?

try Ctrl, Shift, A

My problem is that this was an accidental "Master" and not intended to be. It only had one master instead of the requisite 2. I don't know how I even did it, it must have been one of those blurry eyed late-night screwups I am so fond of making :-)

Thanks Paul. There is alot of hidden stuff in there which sometimes masks a feature as a bug or maybe that is just my tired old eyes again.
