Who’s owning up to this one?

Looks like the logo is lifted from Bush’s “no tree left behind” programme. ;-)
And Lucida Sans, too!

>Could it contain a secret message to Labour?
>Nah, it’s to the SNP: the oak tree is sacred to us Druids, y’know
Could be right. Here’s the Latin…

Perfect Day did it, apparently for £40,000*, which is not going to get them a lordship, they don’t seem to have a web presence.
In Design Week these people are claiming they had the idea in the 60’s, given the state of the typography on their site you would have thought they’d keep quiet.
Threatening politicians with a red-hot poker… that gives me an idea

Dubya gets the bullet
Death also proved to be a popular theme over in multichannel homes with More4’s heavily publicised semi-fictional drama Death of a President at 9pm winning over a sizeable 265,000 (1.65%) as the channel celebrated its first birthday.
The two-hour drama, which portrayed the fictional assassination of George W Bush, was significantly up on the channel’s current slot average for the year so far of 83,000 (0.5%).
In the 12 months that the channel has been broadcasting A Very Social Secretary is the channel’s highest rated show with 484,000 (2.9%) viewers on its launch night.
Check this week’s edition (I think) of Newsweek to see the two candidates featured in the Shell World challenge this week (also on BBCWorld and at http://www.theworldchallenge.co.uk/) — one of them manufactures paper in Sri Lanka by using heffalump poop.

Official word has reached me from David Cameron’s office, and unfortunately it’s rather dull everything-to-everybody stuff.
Dear Elliot,
Thank you for your e-mail.
The Scottish and Welsh parties have their own individual trees that
together form a family. The type of tree isn’t relevant. But a tree for us is the perfect visual representation of our values of strength,
endurance, renewal and growth. It was the favoured choice for the party.
Yours sincerely,
Alice Sheffield

Well, Elliot, I for one am impressed you even got a real message (albeit terribly bland and non-committal!) — given our politicians, you’d be lucky if you even got something other than an auto-response.
>As if they would actually commit to anything, “we don’t want to say it’s a whitebeam in case we alienate the yew voters”
Like someone would vote LibDem if it was the wrong sort of tree? ;-) “Oh, I’m not voting Conservative, they favour deciduous trees….”
