aNYthing / NY Giants logo, please id this font

Frederic Basquin

Hi everybody,

this is my first post! Thank you for creating this forum, I have found a lot of great font inspiration here. Now here is a type id request. It's the "aNYthing" logo (New York City based clothing company). A font close to this would also be great, the only one that I have that comes close is Aachen Bold, but it's not really the same.

Also, the same font is used for the "ny" logo of the New York Giants Football Club.

So if you could help me, I'd be happy. Image attached!

So far I'm not finding a match, but it seems the 'ny' combination is an important part of this logo. Device's Quagmire is not a slab serif, but it has a similar feel, and the right 'ny'.

I'm not sure of the name of the font, but if you're curious where you've seen it before, check out the New York Giants logo.

yep it's the ny from the Giants logo. and Quagmire is pretty close, I like it.

Still, if anyone knows the exact one, that'd be awesome

I would guess that the designer constructed the letters from scratch using the NY Giants logo for reference.

It's not an exact match, but it's close enough that if I were trying to re-create this look I would start here -- have a look at Storm's 'Juvenis' Medium or Text Bold. You make the 'y' from the 'u' and you make the 'g' from the 'q'(this is the hardest).

Hi Mike,

you're right...Juvenis is pretty close. Thanks.

Btw, what would you guys call these typefaces ...I have a hard time describing them as English is not my native language. Just calling them bold retro doesn't really do them justice?

They are sort of 'Techno' because they are squared, but display slab serif works for me too.
