i believe illustrator cs2 has this option in the character window. try expanding all the options.

Create Outlines --> Direct Selection Tool --> pick any letter --> Selection Tool

CorelDraw! I started with CorelDraw2.0 and version 13 is now available.
If rotation (and manipulation) of letters is all you are after, I recommend using version 4. BTW, With CorelDraw3.0, 14 years ago, I re-created my Flowers

With Corel you can use the bezier selection tool to select and move individual letters or groups of letters within a text without going to outlines, so you can keep all the editable qualities of the text. You can also adjust tracking and leading by hand with this tool.

have a look at kaleidotype. it was used for the book "fraktur mon amour" to rotate and develop patterns. (only osx)

At LaTeX you can rotate anything with a simple command:

\rotatebox{angle of rotation}{item rotated}

I like the Kaleidotype, it looks interesing. I'm allergic to LaTex, but can you rotate just one charachter and keep the rest "normal", I may have to look into LaTex (call my dermotlogist.)

Where and how in PM, because of all the programs listed here, it is the one that I could produce with.

Yes you can. I understand the allergic feeling you have with LaTeX. I am not a dermaTeXologist, but you should give it a chance. You can do more neat tricks by using Postscript via PSTricks package for example.
