Something like Neutra?

mindy_LV

Looking for sans recommendations. I like the friendliness of Neutra. Love the Los Angeles magazine font (name?). Or the one Vanity Fair uses in rubrics and elsewhere (again, name?). My favorite pick so far with a similar vibe is Verlag. Which fonts am I overlooking?

Nobel
Geometric 415

Metro?
Avenir?

Geometric 415 is Metro by another name. I think a lot of these fonts are inspired by it.

It lacks the double story 'a' of Verlag, tho.

Here's Nobel - it was my longstanding crush but I think it's been replaced by Verlag.

Proxima Nova

More in my post on Verlag.

heh, i beat you to it, stewf!

There is nothing like Neutraface. :^P I wouldn't call it friendly, but I would call it austere.

Vanity Fair is using something by our own lovable James Montalbano.

Verlag is incredibly different from Neutraface.

What's the project? Who's the market?

It's a pleasure to be beat in that manner.

Los Angeles magazine uses Neutraface.

Hi Mindy. There was this post recently about Neutra; http://typophile.com/node/21343

Paul's already mentioned Proxima Sans, but in context of 'a lookalike to Neutra' I would recommend Mostra by the very same, very talented Mark Simonsen.

There is also the lovely Gotham by Mssrs Hoefler and Frere Jones.
