Typophile

Just a quickie to notify the users and visitors of the Type Identification Board that the head moderator is on vacation till September 1st. Please don’t mind the mess. Normal service will resume in two short weeks.

unknown

Enjoy your time off, Yves. I’m sure you’ve been super busy and deserve the break. Try not to ID all the type you see while on vacation. ;o)

unknown

Have fun!

unknown

Have a good one! I know it’s well deserved time off.

Cheers

unknown

Have fun Mr. Yves. See you in Lisbon?

unknown

Someone konws where does it come from?

unknown

HOW DARE YOU???

Just kidding. I’ve been taking a lot of time off too, hence have only dipped into typophile sporadically this summer. Now of course the pressure’s off to ID since we won’t get any credit for the next two weeks. Kidding again…

Enjoy.

unknown

Enjoy yourself and enjoy your family Yves!

Yves on vacation? Now here’s my chance! NOT.

Hi everyone, greetings from Gregolimano! Enjoying my last days off and looking forward to my return on my favourite Typophile Board. I can actually waterski now! And guess what? After all those years I finally managed to read a serious book, like, with real paper pages ‘n’ stuff! :^D

David, I’ve learned one thing here: IDing Greek type is twice as hard as the usual key glyphs (e.g. ‘a’, ‘g’, ‘G’ etc.) are absent in the Greek alphabet. Hard work! ;^P

unknown

Yves, since you are itching to ID some fonts, here is one just for you!

ChrisL

unknown

Yves of absence ;-p

unknown

Get down Tom! You bad :-)

ChrisL

I’m back! I’ll un-sticky this post and get going on the threads. Give me a couple of days to trawl through two weeks worth of backlog. ;^)

unknown

BTW That must be Futura, innit Chris?

I nicked a newspaper from a fellow passenger on the plane. It was largely set in Fedra Greek, and it took me about fifteen minutes to figure that out. :^P

unknown

That isn’t Futura, it is one of Chris’s bazillion unfinished typefaces. :^D

unknown

Sneaky bugger! :^D

unknown

Tiff is right about the font (Boulder) and about needling me to get my tuchus in gear :-/

ChrisL

unknown

I might also give head-of-the-class points for what it says in Greek.

ChrisL

unknown

Chris was here

unknown

No Tiff, it is something neither Yves nor I can put a feather in our caps about.

Something about hair… or lack thereof. I’m taking some Greek courses this year, so ask me again next summer.

- Lex

unknown

Yes!
Lex is the winner! It says “your hair” as in something both Yves and I have parted with :-)

There were a few hints in my previous 2 posts—they just may have been puns. ;^P

Welcome back Yves. I’m glad you had some well-earned time off, but I missed having you around. (While you were gone I finally upgraded enough to be able to post images again. Yayy!)

I noticed that, Mike — I’m really happy you’re fully functional again and back in the game. It was always nice to have the samples you used to post.
