hey,

just wondered if anyone knew of any good examples of typography being implimented in moving image?

obviously Robert Brownjohn and Saul Bass spring to mind along with the opening sequence to seven. but i wondered if anyone had anything they could share as i am currently researching techniques and methods that use type and moving image togther in an interesting and exciting way.

thanks,

You mentioned Se7en - look into its titles' creator, Kyle Cooper. His resume is a what's what in recent movie titles design. A grad student of mine is working on a research project of Cooper's work.

Here is a somewhat outdated Wired article. He also has a wikipedia page.

Wow Prologue has some awesome work. Thats funny that they did the superman one we were talking about. And I loved the Wimbeldon one. It's too bad their site doesn't have seperate examples of each project.

Eliason, maybe your grad student could post up some more work about him once he gets it figured out.

Hi Leonidas

Possibly this is old news to the other typophiles, but the loveliest thing I've seen lately in this respect is little yellow writing hood. Maybe not 'good' typography, but it is an award winner, and I find the soundtrack irresistible.

You can find the link to it from FontShop.

Ben: That was featured in last year's TypeCon Film Fest, if I'm not mistaken.

Check out the Recent Development sections there for some more intro type stuff.

David: what can I say? I should get out more often.

I have made a flash cartoon animation with latin letters, but not with raster images. for a small Egyptian song, You may like to take a look as well.

Thank you sir! I am glad you liked it.

http://www.lycettebros.com/notmytype/index.htm is another example of this sort of thing..

Yes, it is very good example! Thank you for sharing

Oh, I really like the way McCann has treated Stefan Hattenbach's typeface Oxtail in a couple of TV-spots. It's really the typeface that has the leading role in these films.

I think the films are available on Stefans site:
