Punchcut is presenting a case study on Qualcomm Sans at 4:15PM EST.
When you send a text message to [number deleted] your message will show up on the screen, set in Qualcomm Sans.
We call it the Punchcut Heckle Engine™... enjoy.
(Ahem, I think I have to say that standard text messaging rates apply.)
how did it work?
i sent in a message.
cost me 10 cents!
It was a riot!
Some messages I remember (maybe other attendees can post more) --
"Your fly is open"
"Jared, Typophile needs a reboot" (or something to that affect)
"Hrant hrant hrant"
"Is this thing working"
"You're talking too fast"
"You're talking too slow"
I admit the "Hey Jared, Typophile search is broken!" and "Dezcom is the froggy prince" were me. :-D
A couple of others:
"Church babes are hot!"
"Print-web dance-off later."
Samadam (any relation to the Sam Adams?), it was a bit of scripting that Christian and Jared put together... The SMS from your mobile is sent to a Punchcut phone, then the message is transferred (sucked out) via bluetooth to the Mac on the podium. We averaged 1 SMS every 15 seconds.
My favorite was "...and God created Punchcut!"
Some others:
"Punchcut or Punchdrunk?"
"Turn off the mess it's annoying"
"Hi mark"
"Whatever!"
"I only text in papyrus."
"They didn't want music downloads either."
"Sing the Bitstream song."
"I admit the “Hey Jared, Typophile search is broken!” and “Dezcom is the froggy prince” were me. :-D"
Thanks David! I got a good laugh from those! Ribbitt :-)

Tamye should have explained the the "Church Babes are hot" comment came a moment after Christian, who was the podium speaker at the time, innocently mentioned that he had met his wife-to-be in church. Christian's face was transformed into bright crimson after the "Church babes" comment hit the screen.
