Thought I’d start a new thread for people at Typecon to post their observations. A t-mobile hotspot account is a terrible thing to waste ;-)

And a place for those of us unlucky enough not to go a chance to experience the conference vicariously.

So far so good - Kit Hinrichs talk was good - lots of inspiring images and background on some of his Pentagram stuff. Robin Williams didn’t make it (due to travel issues).

The Font Management panel is just wrapping up - these TypeCon panels are great, goes back to the old-days of TypeCon when you had mostly panel discussions and a few real talks.

That’s great news. Now if we could also revert to
more bohemian accomodations (as David Berlow
once astutely remarked, although he used the
term “blue collar”).

Maybe, and as much as I enjoyed the early days of twenty or thirty people, even then I wished that more people could have enjoyed the event. I guess that’s the trade-off.

unknown

Yes, the far-flung location is a trade off, but I’m sure being in a different city every year attracts a local crowd that would not otherwise make it.

Simon, large doesn’t have to be prissy.

Joe, totally. Next year, Tijuana.

Well, following WADfest Tom Phinney and I announced the location…

I’m putting in for vacation time as soon as I get in. So sorry I couldn’t be in Boston with y’all — especially since I couldn’t go because of an event that would have been tonight had it not been canceled a week and a half ago. Next year, barring an extraordinary life event, no such barriers will be allowed. I’ll even make my new intern start a week late to accommodate TypeCon.

unknown

Dave, great to hear you’ll be coming to Seattle. Maybe you can have the intern start early to carry your bags? ;-)

For those that didn’t make it to Boston, or for people like me that had to leave early :-( check out the flikr pics…
