I really like how you can see the B and the Seven, but I think the last one is just a tad too basic. Bloobseven seems so technical and futuristic.

thx for your comment david!

what I like about the last one is that when you look closely it becomes 3D, because you can actually only see the shadows if you know what I mean..
I might add some colour to is anyway.. I just put it in here in dark grey so that you're unbiased in terms of colours

I'd also like to add a wordmark but i've got no idea which font would fit.. I've tried a few already but none seemed to work

cheers, mike

I read it as 'boobseven' :-D

Add a wordmark at the top. Try making the background black and the object / shape white. Then, the wordmark in neon green. Sick.

David has a valid point. It is boob-esque.

For me, 'bloob' sounds very much contrived web1.0 era online branding. Fake words for fake business models. ;0)

If you like blue, and seven, why not simplify it to something like:

blooseven
blu7
blue7

etc.

Added bonus is that 'blue seven' has an obvious logo solution. ;o)

but name aside, I like sample a the best. Seems the most developed and has nicer weight to it.

@jez777

the reason why I got rid of "A" is that it looks too cartoonish for my taste and for my approach of design.. imo
is boob such a bad association? :D every (man) likes boobs!
cheers mike

btw.. here are a few colour options for sample d (doesn't mean that I'm goin' to stick with "d" though)

The concept for this latest post is nice, however I think you need to work on the actual drawing more, the curve of the b counter needs some work especially around approximately 4 o’clock and at either end, the horizontals and verticals of the b and 7 need a more geometric and symmetric feel, maybe creating a 3d solid version and then removing the unwanted elements might help. On the name it has an onomatopoeic quality, a kind of rounded sound, I think that it might require more rounded forms, maybe you could emphasise roundness of the corners.

well.. I just wasn't really satisfied for some reason so I went back to the drawing board.. I've played around with very minimalistic shapes of a b and the number 7 and this is what came out..
At the top you can see the idea behind the logo

personally, I'm pretty satisfied (for the moment) because it's a much more energetic and dynamic piece which fits me better than the Uber-serious look from before because I'm only 22
Personally I like A) the best.. It has got a touch of blue (bloo) and symbolizes an idea and/or graphic solution that just popped into my mind but the whole could also stand for a (design) factory with the blue part being the top of a chimney.

any comments?!
I'm also looking for an accompanying font.. any ideas?

cheers mike

I'm liking B. But maybe as Cyan? Thing is though.. i'm not seeing B7.. i just love the form.

What about if you worked on a strong type face as just B7? I know it's obvious but it's so minimal i think that it would just work.

I've worked a bit on it and moved the blue bar to the bottom in order to bring out the "7" a bit more..

again I like "A" the best.. what I like about C&D is the fact that it not only shows "b" and "7" but also two arrows pointing upwards symbolizing strength but also being dynamic..

any c&c?

cheers mike

@Paul: what exactly do you mean by "strong typeface" a whole custom typographic solution for the whole name bloobseven or only for "b7"

I'm a fan of A, as well. Plus that little blue bit makes me think of the sound "bloob" as it drips out of the counterform.

The A version is to me the better one you've done so far.

I like A alot. I can just see it laid over a full photograph on a magazine cover.

But.... i'm still not seeing B7, Maybe try putting B7 next to it?

has anyone got a decent font suggestion? would be highly appreciated

DINSchrift is pretty similar to that one? right?

a few font options
I prefer (a)

c&c
cheers mike

I find the type treatment a bit dull and uninspired with such a progresive looking logo/name. Maybe try something more dynamic?

I hope you don't mind me butchering your work a little, maybe it'll give you some ideas.

hey zalmoxe!

I can see what you're trying to tell me.. but your version is just a little over the top for my personal taste..

now im liking that! :D

hi again mike,

what if you set the words BLOOB and SEVEN on separate lines, rather than next to each other? that way you don't have such a difficult horizontal element to contend with.

along the lines of

maybe a bolder and squatter type would work better.

hmm I'm liking that.. I'd just want the bloobseven to be all small without caps to make it easier for the viewer to see the b and the 7 in the icon.. but if anyone's got a decent font suggestion for zalmoxes' solution.. feel free to give me a hint ;)

cheers mike
