(x) Gobierno de Canarias logo - Le Monde Courier {Mike Y}

Any guesses? The curly “e” gets me stranded...
You can see it here too:

Thank you

Better image via Google:

Somehow it feels like an Emigre font, but they don’t have a match.

It’s not Legacy Serif or Carmina either.

The lowercase “i” is also peculiar. Any hints from others?

Do you believe it’s specially made for the logo? If they had a designer to do so, this designer could had advised them to keep their corporative id available... Governments...

The design looks very British and I have a hunch I’ve seen this face before. I’ve checked both Dalton Maag’s and FontSmith’s websites, but couldn’t find it. It’s not from Nick Cooke’s G-Type foundry neither. :^/

I think it’s Porchez’ LeMonde Courrier, using the Serif Guide.

Mike, guys! I think that’s it! Thanks a lot!

Ooooooooh, nice one , Mike! Brilliant ID.

I don’t get it. I looked through le typofonderie. It seemed to have that vibe.

“Ooooooooh, nice one , Mike! Brilliant ID.”

Thanks, Yves, but it was really solved by a tool. All I did was use the a, b, and e in the Serif Font ID Guide and pick it out of a visual lineup of 28 fonts that had those features. It’s my ’secret weapon’ for Serif fonts. It’s a bit tricky to use, because the 12 key letters are not always easy to match with the choices, but it often gets you into the right styles if you don’t try to use the ’shaky’ letter choices.

Maybe you think using a Tool takes the challenge out of the ID process, but I think our goal is to make the ID first. (Besides using this tool can be a challenge too.)

Certainly not me! I’ve always been the first to say that all’s fair in war and love when it comes down to nailing an ID. We are dedicated to providing a positive identification as fast as possible, not to being gloryhounds or ego-strokers. Furthermore I use the same method when looking up stuff in Rookledge’s. ;^)
