A Stencil Type Question (Boeing/Airbus)

ebensorkin0 votes

I have been considering doing a face inspired by a stencil face I have seen on the wings of Airbus & Boeing aircraft. I did a search on Myfonts.com to see if there was anything that matched my intent too closely already & I didn't see anything to put me off yet. However, myfonts.com isn't utterly and competely encyclopedic. Does anybody have any suggestions about fonts I aught to consider before jumping in? Or even any source material they think I should consider? Thanks!

Hmm... Try this site. Would that be relevant enough for your project?

Bram, I didn't see any fonts there - but it suggest a new google search strategy - so thanks!

Stephen, thank you very much! Jacob, you too.

So far so good. There doesn't seem to be anything quite like it. How pleasing and surprising. :-) I'll be looking a bit more - especially if anybody else has suggestions.

Ah!

When you said Airbus and Boeing, the image that came across immediately on my mind was the world's many airlines. House Industries' new United type specimen might help you. Scroll to the very bottom for their stencil face.

Pieter, Very cool. Viva cake type! I may have to get a capibarra shirt soon. This is a digresion but: Has anybody here seen his KPT Display? I should start new a thread about it. if there isn't one. It's very cool. http://www.caketype.com/custom_kpn.html

Bram, Wow! That's tasty. And happliy different from my plan too. Actually I hop to live up to their example of taking a common type reference & breathing new life into it.
