Listing fonts by cast emotion

Ratbaggy

has anyone listed fonts by their ability to express particular emotions/feelings/atmosphere i.e.without additional work etc?

could be an interesting learning tool.

if not ... it's my idea I need royalties. © 2006. ™

Lintype's old stand-alone CD application FontExplorer (NOT to be confused with the new—and free—font manager FontExplorer X) can sort Linotype fonts by subjective criteria, including some emotions.

Please contact me offline (over my profile) if I can help any more with this.

There may be some other tools available as well. I think that FontShop San Francisco might have something online that can do this, but I'm not so familiar with their offerings.

Happy Exploring

I haven't heard much lately on the Universal Font Classification System (UFCS) described at Type-Expertise.com.

I wonder if Denis Ravizza is still pushing the project.

Hello Norbert Florendo,

Yes I am still pushing it, and I am glad you still remember Type-Expertise since your last post about it on this forum in november 2005 :-)

I am in the application developement stage, which takes time and money as me and the people who beleive in this concept are doing it without financial support, but we'll get there ! and I will let you know.

Regards
Denis Ravizza

Very interesting I'll check that out Denis. Thanks typos.
